Vila Galé is opening another All Inclusive resort in Brazil

WITH AN INVESTMENT OF R$150 MILLION REAIS, THIS IS THE LARGEST RESORT IN ALAGOAS

Vila Galé Alagoas is opening its doors this Wednesday (22/06) in Barra de Santo Antônio, 40 minutes away from Maceió. With an investment of around R$150 million and an impressive infrastructure, the group’s 10th venture in Brazil has generated 300 jobs. It is estimated to reach 450 by the end of the year.

“We managed to overcome all the difficulties and met our opening target, thanks to the tremendous effort of the Vila Galé teams and all the construction site staff. We are very proud of this new resort and of having a unit in Alagoas. We believe in the potential of the State and of the people, who are very friendly and willing to learn”, says the Chairman and founder of Vila Galé, Jorge Rebelo de Almeida.

Vila Galé believes that leisure and culture should go hand in hand, which is why the new resort pays tribute to the Portuguese-speaking writers from Brazil and Portugal. Every detail was designed to celebrate that theme. For example, the rooms will have a reference to a writer. At the reception, the six most celebrated world authors were honoured with realistic statues. Female writers have also gained their own exhibition and there is a gallery of the 54 Nobel Prizes for Literature.

“Besides the traditional writers, we have not left out the local and regional reality. We will enhance the hotel with handicrafts, gastronomy, and culture from Alagoas. To this end, we created the restaurant Museu do Sertão”, explains Jorge Rebelo de Almeida.

INFRASTRUCTURE

INFRASTRUCTURE

The structure of the largest all-inclusive resort in Alagoas is impressive. It includes 513 rooms, four pools, seven restaurants, five bars, Nep Club for children with a water park, Satsanga Spa, nightclub, a convention centre with 2,000 m2, among other attractions.

The concept of the new unit was adapted from Vila Galé Touros, the most recent resort opened by the group in Brazil, which was added some new features, such as an increased Nep Club area, a 100-metre long swimming pool, and a water park. All of this in addition to creating the Regional Restaurant Museu do Sertão, the Cervejaria Portuguesa restaurant, and new sports courts, such as beach tennis.

The room categories available at the new resort are: room, family room, superior room, suite, superior suite, chalet, superior chalet and master chalet. For those seeking a differentiated experience for the whole family, there is the option of Nep chalets and family rooms, which are decorated with the children’s characters. Children aged up to 12 staying in their parents’ room are not charged for accommodation and meals.

RESTAURANTS ET ESPACES COMMUNS

RESTAURANTS AND COMMON AREAS

Gastronomy is also the highlight of the new resort. The “Versátil” restaurant is the main one and offers buffet service. The “Inevitável” restaurant combines Portuguese and Mediterranean cuisine, the “Massa Fina” offers artisan style pizzas and pastas, while the “Museu Do Sertão” restaurant offers typical dishes from the state of Alagoas. Designed for children, the “Nep” restaurant offers children’s food prepared without preservatives. In turn, “Cervejaria Portuguesa” is a Mediterranean delicacy bar. You can find the full menu of each restaurant on the My.VilaGalé website.

The entire infrastructure and all services offered guarantee an unforgettable experience for guests of all ages and add up to the cinematographic scenery of the Carro Quebrado Beach. Coconut trees, emerald green sea and the famous multicoloured cliffs that outline the whole length of the beach make Vila Galé Alagoas a paradisaical destination.

Vila Galé Alagoas will be under the care of general manager Eduardo Silva, who has been with the Vila Galé chain in Portugal since 2014 and came to Brazil this year to take on this new challenge.

Eduardo has a degree in Restaurant/Bar Management from the Santa Maria da Feira Hospitality and Tourism School, a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from the Porto Hospitality and Tourism School and a degree in Hotel Management and Tourism from the International Management Institute (IMI) University in Switzerland.

GÉNÉRATION D'EMPLOIS

JOB GENERATION

Besides boosting the economy of Barra de Santo Antônio, the new venture has also guaranteed income generation and improved the residents’ quality of life. Of the 300 jobs opened, 85% were filled by local residents. In addition to direct jobs, it is estimated that 2,000 indirect jobs have been created.

In order to serve the public with excellence, in recent months Vila Galé has conducted in-depth training for all new employees who will work at the new resort. The training sessions were performed by the company’s corporate team, external consultants, suppliers and the departments’ leaders themselves, who also conducted in-depth training in other resorts of the group, such as Vila Galé Touros (Rio Grande do Norte), Vila Galé Eco Resort do Cabo (Pernambuco), and Vila Galé Fortaleza (Ceará).

“We are very proud of the team that will make up the staff of Vila Galé Alagoas. The hiring and training process was fantastic. We fulfilled our mission, seeking a growth that respects both the social environment and the natural environment”, says the Training and Selection coordinator, Marina Mendonça.
