Vila Galé Collection Ouro Preto expands its cultural offering

Parcus Gallery, founded by a Brazilian artist, presents a new gallery dedicated to contemporary art

Ouro Preto’s connection with art is undeniable: the city’s beauty and artistic expression have the power to elevate and enlighten our souls and minds. Known for its Baroque architecture and the works of masters such as Aleijadinho, the destination enchants visitors and reinforces its role as one of the country’s leading cultural centres.

Located just 20 kilometres from the historic city, Vila Galé Collection Ouro Preto has also embraced art and culture. Throughout the property, guests can admire beautiful and meaningful details, such as the sculpture paying tribute to Aleijadinho in the reception area, as well as three museums whose themes are aligned with the local history and the building that houses the hotel. The property has now gained an international art gallery, which promises to further delight guests.

Parcus Gallery is a contemporary art hub and shares the same mission as its headquarters, located in a castle in Austria: to connect artists and the public with elegance, authenticity and a forward-looking vision. “The Brazilian branch follows the same model that distinguishes Parcus Gallery in Europe: full support for artists and a complete absence of sales commissions,” explains Robert L. Parcus, owner of the galleries. “Most of the works on display at Vila Galé Collection Ouro Preto are paintings, but we also feature beautiful bronze sculptures. We exhibit only original, previously unseen works,” he adds.

Coincidentally, Robert studied at the Salesian boarding school that once operated in the building that is now the hotel. “It is a great joy to bring Parcus Gallery to Brazil and, moreover, to the very place where I studied for so many years and which has now become this beautiful hotel. I am certain that this partnership will be a success,” says the gallery owner.

According to Operations Director Eduardo Silva, Parcus Gallery arrives to further enhance the hotel’s entertainment offering. “Vila Galé Collection Ouro Preto offers options for guests of all ages. We have five swimming pools, three museums, a stud farm, extensive green areas, and we are very close to Ouro Preto. The gallery adds even more value and will be a great attraction for our guests.”
