A requirement to show a digital certificate or a negative test has been established for the access to tourist establishments in the entire mainland Portugal territory, regardless of the risk level of each municipality.
For that purpose, four types of tests are accepted:
- PCR test, carried out in the 72 hours prior to its submission;
- Antigen test with a laboratory report, carried out within 48 hours prior to its submission;
- Rapid antigen test using the self-test method, carried out within 24 hours prior to submission, in the presence of a health or pharmaceutical professional who certifies the test's execution and result;
- Rapid self-test antigen test, carried out on the spot, at the door of the establishment one intends to enter, under the supervision of the people in charge of those premises.
It has been established that a digital certificate or negative test is required for access to restaurants for indoor dining services, on Fridays from 7 pm, and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays all day long, for those located in high or very high risk municipalities.
These establishments are allowed to be open until 10:30 pm.
