The collaboration with the Vila Galé Group includes a range of support for VilacomVida and Café Joyeux and their mission to bring society closer to difference. In addition to strengthening the employability of young people with IDD, a corner selling coffee and Café Joyeux merchandise is to be set up inside the Vila Galé Cascais hotel, as well as support for a Cafés Joyeux employee by the hotel group.
Cafés Joyeux customers will now also be able to accompany their meals with the Vila Galé group's wines, which will have a new label created especially for Café Joyeux.
‘This partnership is a way of realising Vila Galé's mission to develop more socially sustainable tourism, thereby contributing to a more humane and inclusive society. With this model we aim to change behaviours and attitudes, influencing employees and customers to adopt socially responsible behaviour in their lives’, explains Gonçalo Rebelo de Almeida, director of Vila Galé.
‘At VilacomVida, and at Cafés Joyeux, our mission is to bring difference to the centre of our cities and our lives, and the third sector is fundamental to this positive transformation of society. Collaborating with leading companies such as the Vila Galé Group allows us to eliminate the stigma associated with people with intellectual and developmental difficulties and shows us that, together, we are on the right path towards a more inclusive society where difference is celebrated’, says Filipa Pinto Coelho, President of the VilacomVida Association and CEO of Joyeux in Portugal.
The partnership also includes the development of training and teambuilding activities with Vila Galé employees, with a view to raising awareness of the need to include difference in their daily lives, reinforcing the transformative power of the hotel group's support for the VilacomVida/Joyeux project.
