We host today those who will change tomorrow!
Vila Galé, a brand that cares daily for thousands of guests, now reinforces its commitment to society by supporting those who wish to actively contribute to a better country. It is within this context that the partnership with Academia Próxima Geração was created—the first non-partisan academy in Portugal dedicated to empowering young people aged 16 to 30 for civic and political participation.
In 2026, Academia Próxima Geração enters a new phase, marked by leadership taken on by former participants and the launch of its 4th edition, with Vila Galé as its hosting partner. Under the motto “we host today those who will change tomorrow”, Vila Galé welcomes young people from diverse socio-economic and ideological backgrounds, offering space, time and context for reflection, debate and the development of proposals with real impact.
Throughout the in-person sessions, held at different Vila Galé hotels, participants are challenged to think about the country from a territorial perspective, debating topics such as employment, the environment, housing, tourism and social cohesion—promoting active citizenship closely connected to local communities.
The 4th edition of Academia Próxima Geração takes place between 30 January and 26 April 2026, maintaining a hybrid format—online and in person—over 12 weeks. The programme focuses on developing leadership skills, political communication and public policy through real challenges, practical projects, debates and talks by guest speakers. Applications were open throughout October, and the selection process ran until 29 December 2025, via the academy’s official website: www.aproximageracao.com.
Integrated into the international non-partisan Better Politics Foundation network, present in over 100 countries, Academia Próxima Geração has already trained more than 70 young people in Portugal, contributing to the revitalisation of democracy and increased civic participation.
With this partnership, Vila Galé strengthens its commitment to the development of the territories where it operates and to the training of the next generation of citizens and leaders, affirming its active role in building a more participatory and sustainable future.
