Val Moreira Vinha D'Arte wins 2023 Excellence Award
Recently awarded in Lisbon to the red wine Val Moreira Vinha D'Arte 2018, the Excellence award from the specialised magazine Paixão pelo Vinho acknowledges the best wines produced in Portugal every year, assessing their sensory characteristics in a blind tasting.
With its origins on the terraces of the Douro, the Val Moreira Vinha D'Arte 2018 red wine is the result of a field blend of more than 20 grape varieties from three different old vineyard plots. It was aged for 18 months in 500-litre French oak barrels and a further 36 months in the bottle.
“With this wine, we wanted to pay homage to the profile of the classic wines of the Demarcated Region of Douro, without losing the boldness and irreverence that distinguishes us throughout our range of wines. The Val Moreira Vinha D’Arte 2018 red wine is also the result of the work we have been doing since the beginning of the project and we are delighted to have received this acknowledgement from Paixão pelo Vinho magazine”, emphasises Val Moreira's winemaker, Ricardo Gomes.
A limited edition, the Val Moreira Vinha D’Arte 2018 red wine is one of the most recent additions to the Val Moreira portfolio. Produced at Quinta do Val Moreira, in Armamar, owned by the Vila Galé group and Xvinus, the brand also has the Colheita, Reserva, and Altitude ranges, as well as Ruby Tawny Reserva, 10-Year Old Tawny Port, 20-Year Old Tawny Port, and an Extra Dry White Port.
These wines can be purchased in the Val Moreira online shop, in any Vila Galé hotel, and in selected shops. They are available for tasting at Quinta do Val Moreira, where the group also has the Vila Galé Douro Vineyards agrotourism unit and where you can also enjoy a tour of the wine cellar.
