On the verge of opening its 13th hotel in Brazil, Vila Galé’s president Jorge Rebelo de Almeida welcomed authorities and journalists in Belém
As the group prepares to open its 13th property in Brazil, founder and president of Vila Galé, Jorge Rebelo de Almeida, hosted authorities and journalists this week at Vila Galé Collection Amazônia in Belém (PA). The hotel will begin operating in soft opening mode on October 9, just in time to welcome guests for the traditional Círio de Nazaré festival, and will be officially inaugurated on October 31. It promises to offer charm, hospitality, and authenticity in the heart of the world’s largest tropical rainforest.
Vila Galé Collection Amazônia is the result of the restoration and transformation of three historic warehouses located on the banks of the Guajará Bay, which were converted into the group’s newest hotel. Ahead of the opening, Jorge Rebelo de Almeida hosted a press conference at the hotel with the Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, Embratur’s president, Marcelo Freixo, the State Secretary of Culture of Pará, Ursula Vidal, as well as journalists from Pará and from the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and the Federal District.
The main objective of the press conference was to present the progress of the works, now in their final stage, and confirm they will be ready in time to host guests for two major events taking place this year in Belém: the Círio de Nazaré and COP30. During the event, attendees had the opportunity to see the beautiful outdoor pools and five room categories, including the Nep rooms, fully themed for children and even featuring a slide, as well as the stunning 54 m² suite with a king-size bed, walk-in closet, and a spectacular view of Guajará Bay.
“Vila Galé Collection Amazônia is a tribute to women. This concept is highlighted throughout the property with artworks from local female artists that celebrate the identity and spirit of the Amazon,” said the group’s president. “We also pay tribute to Our Lady of Nazaré and the Círio de Nazaré with a beautiful soapstone sculpture installed in the hotel,” he added.
